- Whitby Abbey -
Whitby Abbey was a 7th-century Christian monastery that later became a Benedictine abbey. The abbey church was situated overlooking the North Sea on the East Cliff above Whitby in North Yorkshire, England, a centre of the medieval Northumbrian kingdom.
When we were there they were closed because if you’re traveling to England in the winter months, everything is closed. But, it was still super cool to see the Abbey from afar!
I’m sure there are more cool things to see in Whitby but, alast, we were off to a smugglers town! We took a day trip from York and on our way to Robin Hood’s Bay we made a quick stop to see this beauty! On the way back to York, we stopped at Castle Howard!
