Stress -

Travel days aren’t my favorite and after reading this article I see why. Arriving at the airport you are hit with all types of stress. You’re worried about lines, your luggage and (if you’re at Charles De Gaulle then you have to worry about your bags weighing under 12k lol). Sometimes you have gate changes, or even worst you find yourself waiting 3 hours due to flight delays and all this is happening before you even get on the plane! A really awesome way to combat stress is to plan ahead. Make sure you read the rules and regulations of the airline you’re taking so you know the rules BEFORE you get to the airport.

One time, I was waiting to board my flight and a lady had so many issues because she didn’t pack her bags properly delaying her to get on the plane. This experience for her could have been avoided if she read the rules and regulations before she got on her flight.

Germs -

There are so many germs on airplanes but maybe not where you think they’d be. You’re probably thinking to yourself '“Huummm, well the air is where all the germs are?!” Well, yes, and no. Because we live in the future, commercial airplanes have become really good at creating filtering systems that remove most bacteria, fungi, and viruses from the air. The germs, however, come from the other passengers!!! Yuck! “We can catch something from other passengers who are coughing, sneezing, or even just breathing nearby,” Dr. Goldman says.

Think about this, your tray tables, seatbelt buckles, and other surfaces have been touched by other passengers and their germs! Gross!

Here is what I do to combat this; first is super simple; about 15+ days before my trip I start taking vitamin c every day leading up to my trip, a couple of days after I’ve landed and a few days after I’ve landed home.

Second, always keep hand sanitizer and travel-sized cleaning whites like Clorox wipes and wipe down the seat or table while on the flight.

So, I take a lot of 6+ hour flights and I have always wondered, what happens to my body on the flight?

“The pressure, temperature and oxygen levels in the cabin fluctuate, and the humidity level is lower than it is at sea level,” says Matthew Goldman, MD. To top it all off you have the stress of traveling! Running to catch your flight, packing, switching time zones, interacting with people (sometimes even sick people!). So, this lead to me ask, what happens to our bodies on long flights?

So, let’s get this started -

Dehydration -

Once you’re in the airplane cabins ”50 percent of the air circulating in the cabin is pulled from the outside, and at high altitudes, the air is almost completely devoid of moisture. This might cause your throat, nose and skin to feel dry.” A few awesome ways I’ve found to combat these problems are empty water bottles in your carry-on. With the empty water bottles, you can refill it after you’ve gone through security. If you’re worried about dry eyes and nose you can also bring travel-sized eye drop or nasal spray. Now, let’s talk about dry skin. For my last trip halfway though my last 10-hour flight, right before I could feel my skin starting to dry up I pulled out my travel-sized Pacifica wake up beautiful super hydration sleepover mask and Mario Badescu facial spray in Rose and Lavender, (from the best facial brand in the world) Tuel’s Moisture Plus Nourishing Mask, and to top it off I use the Evian mineral water spray. These four combined keep my face hydrated during the long hauls.

Empties your energy -

Because the air pressure is lower at higher altitudes you’re taking in less oxygen. Causing you to feel drained or even have a shortness of breath.

The thing I do is stay hydrated and take sleeping pills and fall asleep. lol

Bloating -

The way the article I found put it perfectly so here ya go!

“Those same pressure changes cause the gas inside your stomach and intestines to expand, which is why you may feel bloated.

What you can do: Pass on scarfing down a greasy burger and fries in the terminal, and avoid any other foods you know could make your gas worse.”


As of right now, here are all my tips and tricks of Travel. I will probably write another post about this because I am always learning about the do’s and don’ts of travel the more I travel.
